EP3: The Magic Number

EP3: The Magic Number

Welcome to Episode 3 (Magic Number Jingle) of Hello Fairview, your local podcast made right here in Fairview, for people in Fairview and the surrounding areas.  This is a weekly show, released every Wednesday, featuring stories that aim to inform and inspire.  Local Radio stations don’t exist in small towns like ours, so we will use Hello Fairview to fill that void with news related to Fairview.  This is a Value for Value podcast, which means you contribute what you can based on the value you receive.  This concept was founded by the PodFather himself, Adam Curry, and his Co-host, John C. Dvorak of the No Agenda Show, almost 18 years ago.

Currently, this is a one-man operation, so if you have any ideas, events, business opportunities, or job openings, please don't hesitate to let me know.  You are a producer of this show; you are not the product, because your time and attention are not being sold to advertisers for value.  Some shows will be longer, and others will be shorter, but I will do my best to keep things relevant.

Traffic Time

Cumberland and 100 are still cooking, which can still add 5-15 minutes when passing through there. This is the right time to relocate some utilities in preparation for the widening and installation of turn lanes at that intersection, which will continue for another year or so.

New Pavement is should be wrapped for 2025, so if you got some be thankful and we will wait till 2026 spring to see what else is coming.

Highway 100 at City Center – There will still be some construction closures here and there as the drainage, roads, and sidewalks are prepared.

Tha Bills

I wanted to do the same thing for TN political news, but a lot of the information is difficult to search because you need to know the text of the bill or the bill number.  I’m able to see the schedule of some of the committees. I still need to call the clerk before the next show to determine how to locate the bills that are coming up for a vote so that I can provide a quick weekly update on their status.

Here is what we have for this week.

Oct 1st

9:00 AM  CST

Senate

Senate State and Local Government Subcommittee

Agenda

How’s the hill, weather report

Back to it, How’s the hill?  Passable, we have got some rain and some storms since last week.  The weather guessers say this week is still looking to be with highs in the mid 80s with lows in the high 50s to 60s. Not a lot of rain is forecasted, so we need to cut our grass a little longer.

New Businesses

Papa John’s had its ribbon-cutting ceremony this weekend, and Goldstein Insurance Agency had its grand opening a couple of days ago, too.  There is still an open slot at Bowie Commons at Publix.  Other than that, I spotted nothing new this week, and I'm waiting to see what else is coming.

Tractor Supply Co, Always watch to see what food truck is there.

Special this week Hattie B’s was at Food Saver yesterday so hopefully they will come back.

Make sure to head to the Farmers Market every Saturday Morning  8AM to 12PM (Not Earlier as other posts have posted) at Meseck Chiropractor and Fairview Fresh Deli for their life-changing Apple Fritters, located down the road from Publix.  So many good places to get fresh breads and treats, local fruits and vegetables, along with some beef, pork, hot sauce, fishing lures, and other holiday gifts this time of the year.

Job Oppenins

City – Police Officer

Walmart – Multiple

Jingo Market (Cashier)

Does anyone else have job postings they would like to share and have read on a weekly basis? Just fill out the contact form on the website.

History Nugget

In addition to the Village, Fairview features several historical markers that commemorate significant events and figures in the area’s history. Notable markers include:

  • The Caney Fork Furnace, located at 7544 Caney Fork Road, is a historic iron furnace built in 1832 by Moses Speer. It represents the easternmost site of Tennessee’s 19th-century iron industry, which peaked in the 1850s. Today, the remaining stone stack stands as Williamson County’s sole remnant of this once-prominent industry and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Faith Moment

Wisdom In The Wilderness | 1 Samuel 25 | Paston Ian Gilchrist

This has been a great series at our church about the life of David, and it’s a lot more than what the Amazon show talks about.  It has been great to learn so much, and I think this part of the sermon was an excellent summary that could also bring you up to speed on the greatness of King David.
