EP: 12 "That was a lot of food”

Traffic Time

Normal Busy, where you can wait 2-5 minutes to make a left in the morning and the afternoon.  Cumberland, and 100 is still getting some regular work. They are still working to build culverts on the East- and westbound sides to widen the road, along with some mini-bridges.  We are less than one year out from it being done.

City News

Christmas Trees – There will be some at Meseck Chiropractic for the Scouts BSA Troop 297 here in Fairview.  Then there will also be Christmas Trees at Farm Fresh Vintage.  There are also Christmas Trees at the Pinewood Christmas Tree Farm at the edge of Franklin.  There may be some at some of our big-box stores, but I would highly recommend supporting a small business or a non-profit group.

Book publishers and literary groups are challenging orders by Tennessee’s secretary of state for public libraries to audit children’s collections and eliminate books dealing with gender identity.

The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security released preliminary statistics showing eight traffic fatalities during the 2025 Thanksgiving holiday travel period, matching the number recorded during the same period last year.

The Launch pit is prepped with the TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) in the hole, and the TBM will start on December 15th.  Construction on the Music City Loop has stopped after one of the contractors reported they haven’t been paid for an agreed-upon milestone.  There has been more talk about more stops, and there may be a public hearing with the Metro Council.  https://www.boringcompany.com/blogdec2025

The Bills

Nothing since last week, and nothing until December 8th is talking about trash literally with the Solid Waste Task Force and then a Fiscal Review on December 10th.

How’s the hill, weather report

Back to it, How’s the hill?  Passable. It be cold yo.  There has been a little sleet here and there with our cold and rain from the previous week.  The weather guessers are predicting highs in the 40s, with lows in the 30s starting this week.  Maybe we are heading into Winter finally?

New Businesses

Nothing New was spotted.  Ace Hardware is still brewing and making some progress.  They have made a lot of progress outside.  The property across from Carr Orthodontics finally has a For Sale sign on it, after months of clearing and leveling.  Other than that, I spotted nothing new this week, and I'm waiting to see what else is coming.  There are still a couple of properties for sale around the area.

Brick and Mortar Highlight

Varden’s Body Shop

Varden's Body Shop & Motor Sales, LLC. This is a Family-owned and operated business since 1969. Specializing in auto body repair and auto sales.  They are one of the local body shops in town, and they have an excellent reputation. I have personally used them, and they did a great job of getting me back up and running.  They are also a massive supporter of Fairview and our teams, sports, and schools.

The Turkey Trot put on by Anytime Fitness went great, there were over 50 there, and many kids and families did the 1-mile run, and a couple of large families participated in the 5k run too.  The top female was a member of the Middle School Track Team, and behind her was her mom.  The top 2 males were both zooming and finished at the same time.  Thank you for putting on the event!

Faith Moment

This sermon is from our own One Church Home by Ian Gilchrist, talking about the start of Christmas and how it’s the same story every year for many churches, but it’s also the most recognized global holiday.

More Than A Prophecy | Genesis 3:15 | Pastor Ian Gilchrist

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmxjnyvfXc0&t

Welcome back. I hope you learned a couple of things. The illustration of trying to find a single marked silver dollar in the state of Texas, stacked 216 deep (0.1 inch each, 18 inches tall), when it comes to the prophecies filled with Jesus.  I suggest listening to the rest of it because he does a good job of setting things up for more details soon.
