Welcome to Hello Fairview!

About

Howdy, and Welcome to your Local Fairview, TN Podcast.  This podcast originated from the Godcaster initiative, founded by Adam Curry, to bring hyper-local podcasts to locations worldwide.  As news has been digitized and acquired by larger companies, local news has become scarce. This podcast aims to fill that gap for Fairview, TN, providing you with weekly news updates on what’s happening and what’s coming up.  This is a Christian-based podcast featuring faith moments in each episode to inform you about local events and opportunities to support our schools and local businesses.   This podcast will be released weekly on Wednesdays, unless unforeseen circumstances arise, but I will strive to keep it going.

These are some of the regular segments:

Traffic Time

This examines the potential impact of road construction on your travels in town, as well as the current status of Highway 100, which is known to be a significant source of congestion.

Were Growin

This is the most critical segment to any resident, as it is how our city is being shaped at every meeting.  This examines the Board of Commissioners, Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Parks and Landscape, and Town Hall, as well as Friends of Bowie announcements and discussions.  Our City has over 3,000 more homes approved for construction, and each month, we are annexing 4-8 pieces of property, rezoning them, and finalizing plots for approval, which means we are still growing.  This is our only chance to make our voice heard.  Still, in some cases, it can be a moot point because if something is okay in our zoning ordinances, they have to vote yes; otherwise, they could be personally sued for not discriminating and not fulfilling their duties under the city's operating agreement.

The State of TN

This is where we look at Tennessee-specific news.  We cannot cover every story, but we strive to focus on government and construction items in and around Nashville.  I

The Bills

This segment will focus on any bills or committees coming up in our State that may impact us.  It’s not easy, and many things are not yet published.  I would love to one day conduct interviews with our TN Congress and Senate members who represent us.

How’s the Hill

This will go over what the weather guessers are guessing for the next week.  This will also inform you about the passability of Highway 100 or “How’s the hill”.  What is this hill you speak of? This is the hill down to the Natchez Trace Parkway and Loveless Cafe, which is typically littered with cars in the ditches when there is some snow and ice.

New Businesses

As our city grows, more businesses are coming to our town, whether they are brick-and-mortar or based in Fairview, TN.  This will cover ribbon cuttings, news of new companies coming to the area, and updates on some of our strip mall openings.

Brick and Mortar Highlight

This will highlight one business a week in Fairview that is located in a building within our City Limits, along with some situated down the road as well.  We encourage people to shop local whenever possible, and these highlights will hopefully support those businesses.

Fairview Middle is our only middle school, and they are doing great things there, too.  They are working to become a TN Reward school, and they are one of the leading schools in the county.  Middle school is also great because we get to see those kids join teams, clubs, and other groups and participate in activities within our community, and we are very proud of them.
